On this week's episode of Midwest Whitetail, we start by catching up with Mike Reed, as he performs his annual prescribed burn on the River Farm in multiple key locations.
Following this, Josh Sparks takes us along on a shed hunt. He's hoping to find the cast antlers from the deer he targeted throughout the 2023 season. After acquiring permission to shed hunt on a neighboring property, Sparks heads into the area he believes to be the giant buck's bedroom.
After that, we head southward to northern Missouri with Tyler Behlmann and Justin Luebrecht, who are kicking off their off-season work with the hope of targeting a giant buck they call "Swoosh." After multiple encounters with the buck during the 2023 hunting season, and acquiring both of his antlers this spring, the guys use historic knowledge of the buck's past tendencies to carve out a new plot near his core area. Time and sweat equity will influence whether or not they will be able to close the chapter on the Missouri monarch!
