Season 1, Episode 6

S28.E8. Phillip Vanderpool is in Montana, and intros the hunt in the way only he can. The man is a talented storyteller, and he's hoping to arrow a buck during his first sit of the trip. That's how it panned out there last season. Will it be a repeat? Well, given that you're watching this, probably so.
No sooner has Vanderpool climbed into the tree when a big brow-tined deer walks into view. The really good deer disappears and reappears, and they do everything possible to connect on the stud. All the while, Vanderpool is fiddling with camera mics and juggling arrows. That Realtree camo keeps them hidden, though.
He finally settles in and grabs his bow. The buck still isn't in range, so Vanderpool grunts at it. It works. The big-bodied whitetail walks straight toward them. Who says you can't grunt in a deer during the early season?
Finally, he fills his tag on the nice whitetail. The deer falls, and Vanderpool gets jacked about it. He puts an end to whatever fidgety fit that buck was having. Was it flies? Something else? You tell us in the comments below.
