S3.E33. The third week of Spring Thunder was great, and the hunts reflected it. Check out the best and latest action from the turkey woods. A lot of longbeards meet their maker.
3:05: In one of the most memorable hunts of the year, the late Daryle Singletary's son's, Jonah and Mercer, finally get a gobbler into range while hunting with some of their dad's old hunting buddies. Emotions run high after a weekend of tough hunting pays off. Watch Jonah and Mercer's hunt of a lifetime. "We ain't never had too much fun,"as Daryle Singletary used to say.
11:35: Realtree's Bill Jordan takes his son, Colton, on an afternoon hunt at Realtree Farms in Georgia. They make a move after spotting a gobbler in a green field. They work the bird, and it struts right into range. He tags his second turkey of the season and Bill couldn't be more excited. Needless to say, Colton is on a roll.
16:15: Phillip Culpepper and Drake Lamb go turkey hunting on public land. Culpepper draws a coveted tag that took three years to obtain. Fortunately, the turkeys cooperate. It doesn't go without challenges, though. Wet weather puts a damper on things, but they hang in there and put themselves in the right spot. Eventually, a lunch-time tom fires up.
20:35: Tyler Jordan and Riley Green try to tag two birds on Facebook Live at Realtree Farms in Georgia. Jordan roosts a group of longbeards the night before the hunt. At daylight, the team slips into the area, but it's slow at first. Finally, the group of gobblers gets fired up. Seven longbeards ease into the field and two break away to pick a fight with the H.S. decoy. Green takes the 20-yard opportunity.
24:18: "When the peaches are ripe, you better keep picking 'em." -- Michael Waddell. That saying holds true as Phillip Culpepper and Drake Lamb head back to hunt public land again in Georgia. It's day No. 3 on the open-to-all ground and the gobblers are getting fired back up. After a couple bouts with tough longbeards, Culpepper doubles up and tags out on Georgia public land.
33:55: After striking out during the early morning pursuit, they finally find a couple lonely toms. The birds are hot, and Tyler Jordan and Riley Green double up in the burnt Georgia pines on Realtree Farms.
39:05: Spring Thunder Producer Drake Lamb gets some deserved trigger time in the South. They head across the river to Alabama in hopes of finding a willing longbeard.
