In this episode, Bill Winke takes us back into the tree to hunt the Wide 10 and enjoys one of his most memorable hunts. The buck is out very early dogging a doe that is either in estrous or very close to it. This mature buck’s behavior highlights a key strategy for the rut – when you find the first hot doe in a buck’s core area, you are very likely to see him. Yes, this takes some luck, but hunting around does at this time of the season is the very best approach. Mature bucks don’t cruise as much as people think – find the does and you will find them. Jared Mills updates us on a dream fulfilled – owning his own piece of hunting land. He takes us on an exciting first hunt and discusses his plans for the new farm.
