A Perfect Rut Hunt, Josh's Journey To An Opportunity

On this week’s episode, Josh Sparks takes us along on a perfect rut hunt that not only saw him take a great buck, but also multiple great friends punching tags that same day. Spending the past two years hunting a single buck, Josh’s 2025 season saw a change in the form of the Gridiron Farm, a permission property brought into the fold by his good friend Casey Maxted. Starting in the spring chasing turkeys, the off season gave way to multiple projects in an attempt to enhance the farm for all who hunt it. Setting his sights on a big 9 point that calls the farm home for the majority of season, a decision to dive into the bedding cover on November 5th and sit a perfect rut funnel yielded a memorable morning. To top it all off, Josh’s girlfriend Joy Van Wyngarden and buddies Lee Herr and Cory Godar also tagged bucks before nightfall, tying a bow around a day Josh will never forget.
