Thank you for joining us for Episode 5 of Chasing November's 9th season. The previous episode saw an incredible start to the cold front action of October 14th, but this was only the beginning. Continuing the quest for a public land giant, Gavin Koterba hits the woods with high hopes that the present front will cause the 6x5 to roam in the daylight, and that he does. With only minutes left, the buck presents a shot and the events that followed prove the value in making every decision count when tracking a wounded deer. That same evening, team member Aaron DeShaw and good friend Emerson Ries head to a historically productive alfalfa field hoping to strike while the iron is hot and tag an early muzzleloader buck. Much like Gavin, the guys make good decisions post shot that ultimately end in wrapping a tag around a great buck. Finally, with the weather clearing out, Kaleb Greiner hangs up the bow for the camera and sets out with good friend Steve hoping to tag the giant droptine buck known as Guards. After spotting the buck that morning and having a general idea of where he bedded down, the duo return for the evening hoping to get a crack at the monarch. All in all, the weather trumps the October lull myth continuing an insane start to the season.
