With the bow season's temporarily closed in Iowa, kicking in is the longstanding traditions of the firearm seasons. A time frame where groups of friends and family get together to hit the woods, it's a time of the deer season that is flat out fun. With 5 kids and full time job, Katherine Reed doesn't get to hit the woods as often as she would like. With a small window, her and Mike make it out and have a fantastic hunt showcasing the reason why putting in the work planting food during the spring months makes such a big difference late. On the same evening, Tyler Behlmann and brother-in-law Jimmy Manaska are also hunting but with the bow in hand. Creative access and using a decoy leads to a continuance of one of the craziest hunting streaks we're aware of as Jimmy tags his 3rd buck, on his 3rd hunt, in three year span. Showing no signs of stopping, the action rolls on with Matt Margrave in the state of Illinois who also uses creative access to tag a great buck. Similar to the Reeds, Justin Karns game plans to help his sister Jenna get a shot at a buck and the plan works to textbook proportions. Joining in on the family fun, Brynn Reed tags a giant surprise buck further during her newfound fire for hunting. Finally, Shea McTighe who's worked his tail off all season behind the camera as a Midwest Whitetail intern gets his shot and unfolds is a hunt in honor of his pap that he will never forget.
